Home of the Nottingham Panthers and Motorpoint Arena, the National Ice Centre in Nottingham was the first twin Olympic-sized ice pad facility in the UK, “heralding a new era in the development of ice skating”.
Comfinity are proud to have been a key partner to the National Ice Centre, supporting them with a wide range of cabling services from moves, adds and changes to ad-hoc cabling design and installations.
Through working closely with their IT team, we have successfully completed numerous projects, including across the concourse for the food and drink bars and their Panthers merchandise stand.
Comfinity have established a great relationship and continue to work as the incumbent installer for all the arenas data cabling requirements.
Situated in heart of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, Santo’s Higham Farm is a premium 15th century farmhouse hotel. The hotel features 31 individually en-suite rooms, 2 bars including a popular sports bar and an award-winning restaurant that is all prepared in-house to produce exquisite A La Carte and Table d’Hote cuisine.
Due to the age and nature of the building, bespoke cabling routes had to be made which involved drilling through a mixed range of stone and brickwork, including hand-hewn solid sandstone dating back to 1471.
Comfinity installed an Excel Category 6 network cabling system to support the new WiFi requirements to which we installed a number of Ubiquiti UniFi AC Pro wireless access points throughout the building.
Nottingham College is one of the largest further education and higher education colleges in the UK with several sites located throughout the city and around Nottinghamshire.
Due to an upgrade of new switches and hardware, the college required a new fibre optic backbone installing across numerous sites along with additional data points to cater for the new network requirements.
Comfinity are proud to have been an integral part in facilitating the new and improved IT infrastructure upgrade for a generation of undergraduates studying in Nottingham. The new fibre optic backbone system will serve pupils and staff for years to come and will deliver data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps.
The project consisted of the installation of a new Excel Enbeam OM4 8/16-core fibre optic cables across multiple sites, including the Nottingham historic Grade-II listed Adams Building. Added to this, we installed additional Category 6 data points and a 42U data cabinet of all voice, data, wireless, CCTV and access control.
Solihull Sixth Form College
Comfinity are proud to have been appointed by Summit Learning Trust with the installation of the structured cabling installation at Solihull Sixth Form Academy.
The site, consisting of several buildings, required the installation of a new Category 6 structured cabling system to replace the existing Category 5e cabling network.
Comfinity installed a new Excel Category 6 structured cabling system throughout multiple of the colleges buildings, including; Hampton, Blythe, Brueton, Malvern and the Claire Hicks Sports Centre. Added to this, we installed a complete end-to-end basket containment system to support the new cabling requirements across the site.
Backed by a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty, the new cabling system will support the requirements of all voice, data, wireless, CCTV and access control.
Ready in time for the return of pupils and staff, Comfinity were appointed by National Church of England Academy in Hucknall, Nottingham to design and install a new fibre optic backbone system as part of their IT infrastructure upgrade.
This project required the installation of backbone fibres to link all communication cabinets between multiple buildings. The installation consisted of complex routes made up of underground ducting and high-level centenary wire.
Comfinity installed over 1,600 metres of Excel OM4 8-core fibre optic cables and fusion spliced 208 LC connectors end-to-end. Added to this, we installed new switches and provided a cabinet tidy for all remote cabinets across the site.
ABM Precast is the largest independent producer of prestressed bridge beams in Britain, offering a comprehensive range of beam profiles as well as bespoke reinforced and post-tensioned products developed and tailored to the needs of individual projects.
ABM initially engaged Comfinity to conduct a wireless site survey for their offices after being recommended by one of our IT partners. It was reported that their day-to-day operations were being affected by frequent dropouts and poor signal strength throughout the building.
Following an initial onsite survey utilising Ekahau’s Site Survey application, Comfinity were able to design and install a Ubiquiti wireless solution along with additional Category 6 cabling to support their new WiFi requirements.
Bunk is a leading chain of restaurants specialising in cocktails and wings with venues across Nottingham, Derby Leicester and Sheffield.
This project involved the rollout of a completely new data cabling system, which Comfinity installed an Excel Category 6 solution along with new cabinets across all venues. Comfinity also introduced a new method of cable management for each venues EPOS system.
The Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) currently has 36 open academies educating approximately 17,000 pupils across seven local authority areas including Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire, Leicester City, Northamptonshire, Peterborough, Lincolnshire and Central Bedfordshire. GAT is a ‘not for profit’ organisation and was formed in 2009.
Comfinity was the installer of choice by Greenwood Academies Trust to install additional data points as part of their Solar PV project across 3 of their sites in Nottingham.
Comfinity was entrusted with installing the structured cabling system for one of the world’s fastest-growing software companies, Ideagen, at their new Head Office in Nottingham. This project was delivered on behalf of one of our office interior fit-out partners.
